WWW.TOS50.COM – Come and Visit

I am Sandy Tankoos, and I recently started my own website which I call http://www.tos50.com.  http://www.TOS50.com is a website geared toward the baby-boomer generation and older.  I started this website when I searched the web and discovered that I couldn’t find any site that had a variety of interesting topics, presented in a visually attractive manner that I would enjoy being part of.  “TOS50” stands for “The Other Side of 50.”

TOS50 has 11 different sections.  Each section represents a different interest for our members.  We try to change our featured video/story on the website at least once a day so as to keep it current and entertaining.  At the present time, we are featuring Barbara, TOS50’s own “Fashionista,” demonstrating many different ways to wear a scarf.  Barbara helps us in the Style and Beauty section of the website.  Today, wearing a scarf is almost required if you are interested in keeping up with the latest styles for women.  If you like the scarf Barbara is using for her demonstration, it is available to purchase in the TOS50 online store.

TOS50 has been well received by the media, both online and offline.  As you will see by roaming through the site, there are interviews of people as well known as Richard Simmons and Deborah Norville, as well as interviews of average men and women who are exploring new and interesting careers and hobbies in their golden years.  My daughter Jenine, an environmental scientist, has been handling the Greening and Gardening section of the website.  Working together with her has proven to be a particularly wonderful and rewarding experience.  Jenine recently interviewed two very impressive guys who are seeking out adventure in their retirement years.  This interview, which can be found at http://tos50.com/video/seeking-adventure-retirement, really makes you realize that getting older can allow you to do all those things you were unable to do while you were still putting children through college and paying off your mortgage.  Retirement can be a very rewarding experience.

TOS50.com only recently opened a new retail store on the site.  Our granny doll, Mrs. Pinkelmeyer, who comes with her dog Moopis, is a wonderful gift for children and grandmothers alike.  We have beautiful food baskets in 3 different sizes and a sterling silver Mother Earth bracelet with 7 unusual silver charms, plus more.  Our store can be found at http://tos50.myshopify.com/.

In the coming week at http://www.TOS50.com, the stories and/or videos we will be featuring are, as always, quite varied:    Kiki, our favorite hair stylist will be discussing the Brazillian for anti-friz hair; psychologist Dr. Don-David Lusterman discusses a man who became his hero while undergoing rehabilitation; we will have more recipes for the holiday season; and, as always, interviews with people who have followed unusual career paths.  I look forward to visiting with you on the http://www.tos50.com website.  Please visit us soon and return often — and remember to browse through the TOS50 store while you’re there.

I like tos50.com. It’s fluffy, serious, eduational, fun, interesting, thought provoking, and quite a respite when one has to be home and TV is in a wasteland mode. I know it will soon find its audience and become the “60 Minutes” of On Line Magazines.
